# Terminology

* **Datasets** represent tabular data. You can ask Chat Explore questions about a dataset, link a project to an underlying dataset, and more.
* **Projects** are the main interface point to Datasets. They allow you to apply a sequence of transformations to a dataset, train a machine learning model off of the dataset, and deploy your model to real production use cases.
